Hello, SCIENCE.

TV on the Radio are going to write you a LETTER. Yes, as it was recently announced, TV on the Radio's much anticipated third LP entitled Dear Science, is coming right up on ya, and is due out September 23rd!

Purdy As a Picture...

Native Korean Rock & The Fishnets is the brainchild of Yeah Yeah Yeahs front woman Karen O. With an equally dark sexuality and damaged psyche, Karen floats through the five tracks posted on the band's Myspace with ease and sinister beauty. Perhaps a variation of "FREAK FOLK," this seems like the natural progression from her work on Yeah Yeah Yeahs second LP Show Your Bones. Though her work here may indicate that she has, perhaps, found a separate avenue to show her teeth in this fashion. At any rate this is staggeringly good stuff, and oh so very pretty.

The Thermals Demos

The Thermals are teasing us with a couple of demos off of their upcoming LP Now We Can See. It's just Hutch and Kathy (OLD SCHOOL STYLE) tearing it up in a basement. Both tracks ("You Dissolve" and "I Let It Go") are promising and quite raw, but "You Dissolve" is particularly satisfying. The simplistic sonic equation still reigns supreme here for them, and I am getting quite excited for what is to follow.

The Headphone Masterpiece

The Walkmen have decided to go ahead and prep a new album just like everybody else! Stereogum has the details in the provided link. I like the promises of different directions and such. I mean, that's kind of what you are supposed to say, but The Walkmen have never really made two albums that were necessarily alike. So I have high hopes here. Elvis, Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison, Randy Newman, the Modern Lovers, The Pogues? I am, for lack of a better word "down." Doesn't look like a release date is set, but it is entitled "You & Me."

Darts of Pleasure

Franz Ferdinand. Remember them?! They made that one really good album and followed it with a really mediocre one. Anyway, after 3 years, it looks like they are finally putting the finishing touches on their third LP. No title as of yet. They are apparently working with Brian Higgins on this one. Dude's kind of responsible for Girls Aloud and Sugababes. Should be interesting.
