What's wrong with a little destruction?

What were we really expecting from "You Could Have it So Much Better?" I mean, Franz doesn't really strike me as a band that would be heavy on conceptualizing. They are rather proud of being fluff. But they are techinically sound fluff...and they look good doing it. Sure it's not a GREAT record, but on a track by track basis I would say it is their debut's superior...if only by a small margin. I just wonder exactly what kind of leap we were expecting here. The music is sharper, the tones are more indentifiable and mature. But they are still silly without being snotty. It's still a really charming schtick for me. It's a middling album, for the most part. But hardly a let down for me.
